This is the second pair I bought on Thursday and I’m sporting today. These are the ones I really need to get used to as they are stiffer/thicker than the others. Men’s sized Nautica, hopefully we get a real winter here in NorCal so I can really wear them! I’ve been ogling a women’s pair in another brand at Costco that looks similar. #boots #shoes #fashion

These are the black boots I picked up Thursday. Pretty comfy when I wore them on Friday. They are men’s Guess boots with some kick ass studs on the heel. Cute for my enormous feet…I’m thinking they must have been meant for a tall skinny emo boy who wears skinny jeans and eyeliner. ;0p jkjkjk! #boots #shoes #fashion #footwear oh and my 14 would love to steal them!!!

LEGO Minifig as Cable Holder: Every Cord is Awesome ~ Modernistic Design
How AWESOME (Sorry, I could not resist!) is this idea to use Lego figures to hold smaller cables? I think very awesome. Apparently, all you need is some Sugru Hardware compound (which sounds like some super neat-o stuff) and some Lego people to make your desk space a little more Awesome!

AWESOME!!!!

I received these Moody Cards free from Tomoson free to review. This is my 100% honest review.

As you can see in the picture above Moody Cards are a flip book on a cardboard stand with pictures of dogs with various sayings depicting moods. I have been looking at things like these in novelty shops and online because I wanted some kind of sign that could signify I was on lunch while sitting in my cubical. We do have a break room on another floor, but often short breaks or breaks I don’t have food to heat up I would like to stay in my cubical.

When I saw these I wanted to try them to see what kind of options it had. It did include my “on break” option, now all I need to do is teach my co-workers to actually keep an eye out for the sign, but in the mean time if they start coming my way I can point at it and they understand. My cubicle is right in the floor of traffic so people often stop by my desk before looking for the persona they really need to speak to, regardless of my break status.

I did like most of the pictures and sayings. There were a few that I wasn’t a fan of, but they were not horrible either. The “get me out of here” with the up close shot of dogs teeth getting cleaned were my least favorite. I like the saying…but the picture is kind of gross to me…they could have found another option. I felt like a lot of these pictures were just random stock pictures they found and not ones that they actually took with the purpose of using them for these flip books. Another cute one that I probably won’t use at work was the “I’m feeling frisky one” with a dog rolling around on its back. Though this could be taken as being innocent as in a spunky mood, it could also be taken in a sexual way so I’d just prefer to err on the side of caution and not use it at work.

Most of the others I would use and I have been flipping through having fun with them. I’ve even had co-workers stop by and ask to flip through it and comment on how cute it is.

Though I do like it, the price seems kind of steep for the quality of the item. Stock pictures with some basic sayings laminated and plastic spiral for the flip part o\n white glossy cardboard stand. For the price I would have liked to have seen more cards, or for the cards to be a bit more artsy, different fonts, colors, borders, etc. Overall I still would recommend it if it fills a need, or you need a cute work white elephant gift.

You can find them here: Moody Cards. And just now double checking the links I see that they have dropped to $8.99 on Amazon, which is more reasonable than the $14.99 that they were priced when I originally received them.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Book Review ~ The Witch With No Name

The Witch With No Name (The Hollows, #13)The Witch With No Name by Kim Harrison
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book is the last in the series and I went in so excited, I think I hyped it up a lot to myself and that’s what made it not 5 stars once I read it. Or maybe it’s because of the ending, don’t get me wrong. It was good and tied up questions we were wondering. However after tying up this books story it jumps to the future, I can’t remember exactly but somewhere 20 years out when one of Trent’s daughters is getting married.

This future does help explain what becomes of the main characters in the story, but almost leaves me wanting more. I suppose I could do without the missing years, though I would be interested if they were to magically appear. Really what I feel though is that she could use this ending to spin off a new series with Trent’s daughter and her husband since they will have an interesting and unknown future because of their union. Okay spoiler…this ends with one of the girls marrying a demon. Yeah that’s right. Oh and Trent found a way to make babies between elves and demons sooo it leaves us with the idea that him and Rachel could now potentially have a baby if she wants.

WHAT??? NO YOU CAN’T JUST LEAVE US THERE!!!! I really dislike when endings leave us with new questions, thoughts and ideas. The ending ended THIS book well, and potentially the rest of the series. I think I would have been good with they lived happily ever after the end…but NOOOOOOOOOOO she has to introduce new ideas!!! This is why I docked it a star, because if she doesn’t come out with a spin off series then NONONONO…I need more!

This book also didn’t keep my attention as much as previous books in the series until the end. Usually I get a Hollows book and just want to use ever waking non-working moment to read it. This one I could easily set down and go on with doing other things and just picking it up on breaks, or while waiting in the car when picking kids up and such. It was not in a death grip like previous titles from the Hollows have been. It was another ohhh Shit has hit the fan and now everyone is blaming Rachel and she has to save the world YET AGAIN! And of course like all the previous books she does…it was interesting but not 5 star worthy so I docked another star there. It just seemed like a lot of saving the world fluff to get to the end and find out REALLY what will happen to Rachel and Trent!
